Choosing the Right Tool

What is the difference between bypass and anvil cutting?
Bypass blades slide past each other like scissors, making clean cuts on live, green growth. Anvil blades close against a flat edge and are better suited to dry or dead wood.

Should I choose straight or wavy hedge shear blades?
Wavy blades grip stems to prevent them from slipping out of the jaws, making them ideal for mixed or woody hedges. Straight blades are better suited to fine shaping and soft growth.

What cutting capacity do I need?
Secateurs typically handle stems up to 15 to 25mm thick. For thicker branches up to 50mm, choose one of our ratchet or geared loppers.

Which weeder suits lawns versus paving?
For lawns, a daisy grubber or forked deep weed cutter lifts weeds by the root with minimal damage to the turf. For patios and block paving, our telescopic weed knife clears joints without the need to kneel.

How do I look after my tools?
Wipe blades clean after use, dry them thoroughly, and apply a light coat of oil before storing. Keep cutting tools sharp and store them in a dry place.
